MCD is a futures order entry system for retail market participants. MCD
was launched in the early part of 2000 as a response to inquiries from
our Introducing Broker (IB) client base.
Traditionally, the R.J. O'Brien (RJO) IB is a full service futures
broker, offering value-added market support and advice. The advent of
the Internet has changed the face of all businesses. Futures brokerage
is no different. Although the majority of RJO IBs continue to provide
full service brokerage, MCD now allows them to compete in the quickly
evolving electronic world.
MCD is an application-based program that transmits its data via the
Internet. MCD provides a futures order entry system as well as quotes,
and charting capabilities. Users can access real-time account
information and can instantly communicate with their futures broker.
More specifically, MCD interfaces with Client Access Terminal (RJOCAT),
which transmits trades directly to the major futures exchanges.
RJOCAT is an electronic order routing system
that sits on the desk of an RJO IB. The RJO IB uses the RJOCAT system to
place trade orders on behalf of his clients. This interface allows the
retail client to independently place his own trade. However, the IB can
instantly monitor all of the retail client's trading activity.
MCD was created strictly from the input of RJO IBs and their customers.
The feedback RJO has received since its launch is that MCD is
user-friendly, complete, and meets the needs of individual futures
market participants.
