Founded in 1914, R.J. O’Brien (RJO) is the largest independent futures brokerage firm in the U.S. and a founding member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. | RESPONSIBILITIES |
The selected candidate will be responsible for driving revenue,
client asset and account growth. Developing, implementing, and
achieving the strategic and annual operating plans of the division.
Recruit, train, motivate and manage division management and
sales brokers in the execution of the agreed upon plans and
objectives of the company. Ensure the policies, practices and
objectives established by the company are properly interpreted
and uniformly enforced throughout the division as well as
compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
The scope of oversight will include:
- Create and implement sales strategy and manage solicitation of new accounts.
- Analyze operations to evaluate performance of RJOF Division and its staff in meeting objectives, and to determine areas of potential revenue opportunities, cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.
- Direct, plan, and implement objectives, and activities of division to ensure continuing operations, to maximize returns on investments, and to increase productivity.
- Prepare budgets for approval, including those for funding and implementation of programs.
- Appoint department heads or managers and assign or delegate responsibilities to them.
- Establish division’s departmental responsibilities and coordinate functions among departments.
- Monitor all regulatory requirements.

| QUALIFICATIONS |
The successful candidate will be a mature, strategic, and seasoned executive with a proven track record of driving top line revenue growth for a brokerage firm. This individual must be able to quickly develop an understanding of the organization’s operational characteristics, business drivers and culture. The individual should also be an inspiring leader as well as an independent and creative business thinker who possesses a high degree of integrity.
Brokerage sales and service experience in the futures area preferred, but not required. In sum, the individual will have served in a previous role as a strong leader and business enabler as part of an executive team in the financial services industry.
