Summary
Database developer, playing a key role in facilitating the integration Trade, and Post trade data for the firm. The successful candidate will be involved in design and development of data centric data services that will be used by Risk, Trading, Finance and client facing applications.
The successful candidate will serve as first point of reference and mentorship to the entire development team in optimization of database objects, database development and ETL best practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Knowledge of structured database design both normalized and de normalized.
- Collaboratively design and implement data centric, data distribution systems, monitoring and scheduling solutions.
- Professional demeanor, strong communication skills, responsive customer service attitude, and a commitment to working in a team environment are essential.
- Must be able to express complex technical concepts to various audiences effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be capable of communicating technical solutions to non technical individuals.
- Will work within a structured SDLC environment, designing and developing based on iterative requirements, producing iterative internal releases of code for team collaboration, reviews, and testing.
- Responsible for designing, building and improving high performing data objects, databases, tables, stored procedures, SSIS feeds.
- Must be capable of working with, and in some cases taking the lead of other developers in the execution of projects and operational tasks. Able to work effectively without constant supervision.
- Ensure data and data objects are fully redundant, with working DR solutions.
Qualifications
- Development and design of Data centric systems
- MS Sql server 2000, 2005, 2008
- TSQL
- Relational Database design
- Strong understanding of ETL as it pertains to servicing a Data Warehouse
- SSIS 2008 (SQLServer Integration Services 2008)
- Experience with other relevant technologies
- Net, C#
- Object oriented programming techniques
- FIX, covering the full order/trade lifecycle
- Derivatives Trading industry/applications experience essential
- Bachelor's Degree or Significant relevant industry experience
- Certifications a plus, but not required.
