Summary
Under indirect supervision, provides advanced network maintenance, complex problem analysis and resolution, and in-depth technical expertise. Professional, communicative, extraverted and responsive customer service attitude and commitment to working in a team environment is essential.
Duties & Responsibilities
Implements and supports the IT network function globally. Ensures that the network infrastructure is effectively managed to support business requirements, optimizing the costs and benefits of these services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Manage, knowledge transfer, and grow a 2 – 3 person team who assist in network, voice, and telecommunications support.

Overall management of all network and telecommunications infrastructure from the load balancers, Firewall, STZ/DMZ to local LAN and user segments

Documents architecture, network diagrams, hardware inventory, and configurations for LAN/WAN, Remote Access, and Client/Exchange connectivity

Performs routine hardware and software maintenance and assists in proper upkeep of systems.

Manage relationships with hardware, software, and consulting vendors specific to network and telecom.

Assist in developing and maintaining network and telecom needs for secondary disaster recovery site

Develop test plans to perform regularly to test network redundancy, failover, and ensure network performance in a disaster scenario

Maintain tools to monitor, alert, and report on network health and assist the business in reporting on customer SLAs

Implement and maintain network security via Network Intrusion Detection Systems or other systems

Coordinate and recommend all network procurement needs

Maintains applicable records including administrator accounts, security, and equipment inventory.

Support of voice communications network including PBX and possibility of VoIP in the future

Assist in developing and maintaining wireless networks

Maintains knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Relevant IT qualification and minimum of 5 years of IT experience.

Cisco (CCNP, CCDP) certification or higher. Other security or industry certifications a plus

Excellent management and interpersonal skills required.

Demonstrated experience in applying new technologies and designing critical systems which have helped corporations achieve low downtime and higher performance.
Experience implementing and supporting the following technologies is critical:

Expertise and experience in designing, implementing, migrating, administering and documenting network infrastructures. Technologies include Cisco core switches (6509, 6513) and routers, Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), SSL, and F5 load balancers. Cisco experience is a must.

Design and implementation of network infrastructure including LAN/WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP, DMZs, Secure Transaction Zones, Layer-2/Layer-3 routing, and highly available, scaleable, and redundant enterprise firewall, routing and switching environments

Additional expertise and experience in the following: Frame Relay, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, wireless networks, and disaster recovery and business continuity.

Understanding of network monitoring tools and experience proactively monitoring networks and report SLAs (uptime, response time, etc.) to the business

Knowledge and experience supporting voice systems and ability to develop network to support voice technologies, such as PBX, VoIP, etc.
A bachelor’s degree is required. Knowledge of the trading industry is a plus.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than two (2) hours per day.
