Position Title: Web Developer

Position Summary:

Responsibilities include:
  • Development of new web technology to enhance core businesses.
  • Continued development, daily monitoring, and maintenance of all Web based product offerings.
  • Communication with upper management to gather feedback for continued growth of the RJO Web effort in hand with the VP of Application Development and the Chief Customer Relationship Officer.
  • Interface with team members to integrate and streamline the total RJO Technology Suite.

Candidates will have 3-5 years of experience working on interactive projects with a wide range of technical abilities. Experience in ASP.NET, XML, and PHP in both Windows and Linux environments is a must. Working knowledge of SQL, financial data feeds, and the futures marketplace is a plus. Must be a creative thinker with a drive to go that extra mile for success.

Development Continue to create and increase the effectiveness of RJO’s Web presence. 60%
Maintenance and Support Ensure that Web properties are operational. Concept ways to increase uptime, and support RJO divisions with general Web support 20%
Web Strategy Work with VP to concept and map new Web strategies that impact RJO businesses in a positive manner 20%
Networking Assist IT group with the operational aspects of running a Web presence
Experience: Includes prior position, industry or prior behavioral skills (i.e.. demonstrated use of computers, ability to organize, prioritize, etc.)
3-5 Years Expience, Core Web Technologies Deep experience with ASP.NET, AJAX, XML, HTML, CSS, and .NET. Working knowledge of SQL, financial data feeds, and the futures marketplace is a plus. A solid understanding of the Internet and related technologies. Strong programming experience building complex, web-based user interfaces and applications.
Other Web Technologies Working experience and ability to maintain PHP web applications, Apache and PostgreSQL in a Linux environment is important.
Self-starter Proactive desire to continue to broaden and deepen technical and related business skills.
Trading Experience Experience within capital markets and trading is strongly desired.
Communication Skills Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science emphasis is preferred)
