Chief Operating Officer - Futures

HOURS:

Full-Time

REPORTS TO:

CEO, RJO Futures; EVP Product Strategy

JOB SUMMARY:

The Chief Operation Officer of RJO Futures, a retail client division of R.J. O'Brien, will supervise and manage the daily operations. This position will also offer guidance and support for new product and business development.

Additionally, the Chief Operating Officer is responsible for:

Providing hands on review and management of retail accounts margin; debit and credit worthiness; implementation of systems necessary to manage individual account and firm risk in light of new products or services.
Managing and introducing procedures for maintaining divisional P/L; manage financial planning for division; assist in financial modeling for new product /business development.
Supporting sales manager in creating/maintaining effective sales team; review, manage and create client procedures to ensure cost effective client satisfaction.
Monitoring NFA/CFTC regulatory requirements and ensure division's adherence.
Working with divisional head to bring new products and services to market, includes: idea generation, partnerships, implementation, development of monitoring systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 5 years of hands on experience with minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role
Must be registered with the NFA
Series 3, 30 licenses; series 7, etc. a plus
5-10 years as Futures Broker with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity
Must have implemented and managed sales and/or client service systems
Experience in managing a P/L, financial planning and new product modeling
Experience with CTA’s, systems providers, technologists, etc., a plus
4 year Business degree required

SUPERVISION/STAFF COORDINATION:

Select, train, supervise, evaluate and dismiss, if necessary, the futures related staff
Manage informal and annual performance reviews of the team
Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO
